In this module of the course, we explore anatomy and neurology at an introductory level to give us the vocabulary and theory to go deeper into how our brains and bodies work together and impact our relationships to ourselves and others.
Create a big picture list of things that are important to you (family, social time, sports, etc.) They have to actually be important to you though– not just what your parents or teacher might want you to say! Then, come up with a solution-focused goal for your areas of importance. Solution-focused or positive means say what you WILL do, not something you are going to stop doing. Write a few goals and then number them from most to least important.
Take a goal you already have and break it down into as many small steps as possible. Identify each little part in a way that you can check off when that step is accomplished!
Watch a video or read a story of SUCCESS. Memories of how others overcome adversity help us to develop that mindset too.
Think of a mistake you’ve made– congratulations! We have to be kind to ourselves when we face obstacles and make mistakes or we will give up. Come up with three kind things to tell yourself next time you make a mistake.
